... ou comment vivre une vie créative

Have you ever wondered where to put your signature on a piece of art?
This is my art journaling page for this week's 'summer of color'.
Where would you put your signature? On the top right corner? On the bottom right corner? between two branches? on the bottom left corner?
Do tell me! I'm curious.
Balance. The ultimate goal.

seasonal wardrobe?

This month, Michelle Ward asked us if we tend to change the colors of our working palette when seasons change.
I've observed my color behavior and this is what I've noticed : my absolutely favorite works of art are the ones in RED!

I also love to play with orange or pink... but almost always combining them with RED!
On rainy days, sunny days and snowy days : RED is a full time winner.

Artists can color the sky red because they know it's blue.

Silo No 5 index card 1

Guylaine, at Gycouture(design) made these gorgeous pictures of Silo No 5 in Montreal.
It is a massive machine for the movement of grain.
I felt so inspired by those pictures that I asked her if I could use them for my index cards.
She said yes!

birthday + art journaling + list

Margot is one year old today!
And my feet are fine! Thank you all for your sweet comments.
For Natalie's triple dog dare, I went running naked in the garden!
My husband said that I wouldn't dare to run naked in the garden...
but I did.
Today is also friday. I made a small list of what patients told me this week :
1. I drink 25 beers everyday. And it's because I have no money left to drink more.
2. Life is a lottery draft. I won cancer.
3. Can you prescribe me some viagra?
4. My wife won't sleep with me anymore because I'm poor.
5. I don't have a home. I live in the streets.
All that in just one week.
Isn't life completely absurd?
And here am I, celebrating Margot's first birthday.
I am so lucky.

Weren't they disgusting?
I couldn't wair comfortable shoes to go to the hospital.
The next day, Margot was born!

in the sun

I've joined this super super fun online class :
From june to september, Natalie Malik is going to post a prompt everyday!
C'mon folks! You know you want to join too!
I won't be able to make an art journal page every single day, but I'll try to make at least one every week.
And who knows, maybe I'll combine her tutorials with Tammy's index-card-a-day challenge!
Yark! Feeling excited!
Excited like Margot when she received that new dress the other day :
Yarkk! Feeling excited!
Feeling full with excitement!
Bursting with excitation!
Can't wait to start!
But first, gotta go to the hospital. And act like I'm excited as usual.

liste du vendredi : list of notebooks

I work in many different journals at the same time :
1. my two regular art journals (a square one and a rectangular one) where I work fast (mostly brainstorming what I did/see/heard that day)
 2. a simple baby book I'm making with big events in Margot's life (pages are a lovely vintage brown)
3. my big book of ideas where I glue things that I find inspiring (great source of inspiration to turn too!)
4. my little book of quotes
5. my black and white sketchbook
and... some scrapbooks, my little book of techniques, my moleskine travel journal (you know that one now), my book of lists (yes, you heard me right : just lists), one with my favorite recipes, my home planner (next friday, I'll make a list of what's in that one :)

I wish you all a wonderful week-end. Later today we are going to drive to The Hague. Not to see Ratko Mladic's trial, but to spend the next two days with my mother.
